Sculptural pendant and snake chain, yellow gold, circa 1970, signed, maker's mark
 
Italian-Swiss sculptor and jewelery designer, Onelio Vignando, a graduate of the École Supérieure des arts appliqués de la Chaux-de-Fonds, moved to Paris in 1968. In 1962, he obtained his jeweler-jeweler diploma and received the first prize at the international competition in Geneva. 
He devoted himself to sculpture from 1973, carrying out large public orders in steel, while continuing his jewelry creation. The free, organic shapes of the 70s, modeled in precious metals, were followed by more geometric, structured and sharp shapes in the 80s. His jewels were exhibited in the 70s in the Parisian galleries Sven, Gennari, Marie Zisswiller. It is now in the collections of the National Contemporary Art Fund as well as those of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, prominently in La Galerie des Bijoux.
